How It Works
This tool processes your audio entirely in your browser using Web Audio API — nothing is uploaded to any server. The mastering chain applies professional DSP: rumble removal, dynamic compression, air-band EQ, loudness normalization, and peak limiting, then delivers a download-ready file.
Processing Chain
1. Rumble Filter
High-pass at 40 Hz — removes sub-bass noise and mic rumble.
2. Compression
Dynamic range control. Reduces loud peaks, brings up quiet parts.
3. Air EQ
Subtle high-shelf boost at 10 kHz — adds brightness and presence.
4. LUFS Normalize
Applies gain to hit your chosen target loudness exactly.
5. Peak Limiter
Hard ceiling at -1 dBFS — prevents clipping and distortion.
Target Loudness — Platform Reference
| LUFS | Platform / Use Case | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| -8 LUFS | Club, DJ sets | Maximum loudness. Will be turned down on streaming platforms. |
| -10 LUFS | Loud / Aggressive masters | EDM, hip-hop. Still loud. Platforms may normalize. |
| -12 LUFS | Streaming — Aggressive | Slightly above standard. Competitive loudness. |
| -14 LUFS | Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube | Recommended default. Platform normalization target. |
| -16 LUFS | Streaming — Dynamic | More dynamic range. Good for acoustic and classical. |
| -18 LUFS | Broadcast (US) | Television / radio — ATSC A/85 standard. |
| -23 LUFS | Broadcast EU (R128) | European Broadcasting Union standard. |
