Artificial Streaming, Fraud & Licensing
Artificial streaming uses deceptive methods like bots and click farms to inflate the number of streams on a song. It’s also known as streaming fraud and artificial streams on your music can have serious consequences - even if you were inadvertently involved.
Link: https://youtu.be/gTXO0QNEXgE
The risks of artificial streaming:
- Removal of music: Spotify and other streaming services have strict measures in place to detect artificial streaming. If your music is found to have artificial streams, it may be removed from platforms.
- Lost royalties: Earnings from artificial streams will not be paid out. Artificial streams are also responsible for devaluing the royalties paid for genuine streams.
- Account closures: Use of artificial streaming can lead to suspensions and even the closure of your Ditto Music account.
We will impose these penalties on the accounts flagged for artificial streaming if necessary. But we guarantee these penalties will in no way negatively impacts artists who did not release the violating tracks.
How to avoid artificial streams
Don’t pay for any service that guarantees streams or playlist placements on Spotify or any other platform. Some companies might use misleading marketing to convince you they offer streams from genuine listeners, but this isn’t true.
Before hiring a music promotion service, do thorough research to make sure they only use legitimate techniques to promote your music.
